There is a whole blog here on my website dedicated to this painting called Jesus in Drag. I make a parallel between Jesus being outcast by the religious elite who didn't like him or approve of him just in the same way that many religious people today demonize and ostracize the people who belong to the LGBTQ community. I can't think of a being who was more loving than Jesus himself just in the same way I find so much love and acceptance within the LGBTQ community. The transgender and the drag queen and the homosexual are still being treated as outcasts by many people and it is time for this to stop. I am a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community and this painting is one way to show my support and love.
